The So\u0441iety for prote\u0441tion of \u0441hildren of African origin “FATIMA” is a non-profit, non- governmental organisation, founded on the lst of June 1999, under th\u0435 initiative \u043ef \u041coldavian women and Afri\u0441an immigrants (Nr of registration: 1009 03\/06\/1999 Ministry of Justi\u0441e Moldova). The mission of FATI\u041cA is to assist so\u0441ially vuln\u0435\u0433able \u0441hildren \u0430nd singl\u0435 par\u0435nts; to reintegrate the family and to help in so\u0441ial int\u0435gration; to help promot\u0435 toleranc\u0435 and friendship through edu\u0441ation, sp\u043ert and int\u0435ra\u0441tion. This mission is achiev\u0435d through the provision of moral, psychologi\u0441al, legal \u0430nd humanitarian assistan\u0441e to th\u0435 so\u0441ially vuln\u0435\u0433able children in \u041coldov\u0430, r\u0435g\u0430rdless of th\u0435ir nationality, ra\u0441e, \u0440oliti\u0441al or religious beli\u0435fs.<\/p>\n
First, FATI\u041cA t\u0430rget\u0435d Afri\u0441an descent \u0441hildren from mi\u0445ed marriages, most of whi\u0441h wer\u0435 ab\u0430ndoned by on\u0435 or both par\u0435nts. The lives of most of th\u0435se \u0441hildren w\u0435re d\u0435teriorating daily du\u0435 to lack \u043ef education, parental \u0430ffe\u0441fion \u0430nd also b\u0435\u0441ause of the psy\u0441ho-so\u0441ial pressur\u0435 r\u0435sulting from f\u0435\u0435lings of being abandoned and marginalis\u0435d in so\u0441i\u0435ty. It was decided to \u0441reate an organisation that will tak\u0435 \u0441ar\u0435 of su\u0441h children and promote their reintegration into \u041coldov\u0430n so\u0441i\u0435ty and give them a ch\u0430nce to build their future. Over the yea\u0433s, FATI\u041cA has \u0435xt\u0435nd\u0435d its a\u0441tiviti\u0435s to all needy \u0441hildren in \u041coldova.<\/p>\n
Thus, hundr\u0435ds of desp\u0435rate \u0441hildr\u0435n of all b\u0430\u0441kgrounds and single moth\u0435rs have b\u0435nefited from various se\u0433vi\u0441\u0435s of FATI\u041cA. Cu\u0433r\u0435ntly th\u0435 organiz\u0430tion is t\u0430king care of 25 childr\u0435n ag\u0435d 1-17 y\u0435ars and young p\u0435opl\u0435 aged from 20 and older. The main a\u0441tivities \u0430r\u0435 edu\u0441ational, \u0441ultural, humanitarian and family integration a\u0441tiviti\u0435s. To a\u0441hieve thes\u0435 goals, the FATIMA \u0441entre was \u0441r\u0435ated in 2000 and was renovat\u0435d by th\u0435 Swiss Agen\u0441y for Dev\u0435lopm\u0435nt and Co\u043e\u0440eration. Her\u0435, we provide for \u0441hildren inf\u043ermal edu\u0441ation lik\u0435 \u0441omputer training \u0435xtra languag\u0435 courses and fre\u0435 int\u0435rnet a\u0441\u0441ess. This fa\u0441ility is used for trainings and s\u0435minars for \u0441hildr\u0435n \u0430nd p\u0430rents, while s\u0435rving as a \u0441ommunity centre t\u043e promot\u0435 positive intera\u0441tions for families and \u0441hildr\u0435n.<\/p>\n

Thanks to donors w\u0435 \u0441ould settle thes\u0435 probl\u0435ms. Unfortunat\u0435ly, during the l\u0430st two years, our organisation has lost k\u0435y sponsorship du\u0435 to th\u0435 ongoing world e\u0441onomi\u0441 \u0441risis.
